Maine Alliance for Addiction and Mental Health Services
Alliance for Addiction and Mental Health Services, Maine (the Alliance) is a statewide membership association for community behavioral health organizations that provide multi-level services, programming and coordinated leadership to ensure that Mainers have full access to the continuum of recovery-oriented systems of care for mental illness and substance use disorder – from prevention through treatment and into peer recovery support.
Maine Association for Marriage and Family Therapy
The Maine Network represents the members of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy living and working in the state of Maine. The Network seeks the advancement of the profession and the practice of marriage and family therapy in the Maine. Toward this end, the Network strives to promote the common professional interests of marriage and family therapists and marriage and family therapy practice in our state.
Maine Association of Addiction Professionals
The Maine Association of Addiction Professionals (MAAP), is Maine’s chapter of the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC).
Maine Association of Psychiatric Physicians
The Maine Association of Psychiatric Physicians (MAPP) is the Maine District Branch of the American Psychiatric Association and the only professional organization of psychiatry and psychiatrists dedicated to the state of Maine. MAPP works toward a future in which there is no mental illness, because high quality psychiatric diagnosis and treatment is available to all individuals and their families, and psychiatrists are connected and supported professionally.
Maine Association of Social Workers (NASW-ME)
The NASW-Maine Chapter, the leading professional social work organization in the state with over 1000 members, is committed to advancing professional social work practice. Comprising professionals with Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degrees in social work, as well as Associate members from related fields, the chapter supports its members across diverse settings such as community mental health centers, family service agencies, schools, hospitals, courts, and a variety of other public and private agencies.
Maine Counseling Association
The Maine Counseling Association has been instrumental in setting professional and ethical standards for the counseling profession. MeCA has made strides in accreditation, licensure and national certification. It represents members’ interests within the Maine School Counselor Association, Maine Mental Health Counselors Association, Maine Career Development Association, and Maine College Admissions Association. MeCA members work in educational settings from preschool through higher education, in mental health agencies, community organizations, employment agencies, rehabilitation programs and private practice.
Maine Mental Health Counselors Association
MEMHCA is a branch of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), supporting LCPCs and clinical counselors with education, advocacy, leadership and collaboration.

The Maine Psychological Association (MePA) is a non-profit association which represents the 600+ psychologists and psychological examiners in Maine.
